The prevailing commitment in clinical law programs like the Intensive Program Poverty Law at Osgoode Hall School is to an engaged-contextualism, which serves see action. It has provided participating students with some insight into everyday life of ordinary people, approaching—but not necessarily fully perceptive to—certain socio-legal perspectives. But what does legal education vision and envision? How precisely do clinics see? And from source or place that visual authority derived? Here, by attending “pedagogy seeing” contemporary poverty practice, I engage teaching, learning, praxis knowledge production. contend engaged-contextualism troublingly adheres a pedagogy seeing indebted very it should strive dismantle: state power.
